Departure Checklist

When you leave

  • Please depart by 11 AM so we can prepare the house for our next set of guests
  • Return stuff to where you found it
  • Turn water heater in garage clockwise to the lowest setting marked “L”
  • Take any of your remaining food with you (especially refrigerated)
  • Empty water from coffee maker and unplug the power cord
  • Empty garbage bins, take out the trash and place them into the garbage can located in the bear box near the street. Garbage pickup is every Tuesday at 8am
  • Load and run the dishwasher, dishwasher detergent is under the kitchen sink
    • Please do not leave any unwashed dishes or additional charge will be incurred
  • Wash one load of used towels and rags in the morning, then load and run the dryer prior to departing
  • Strip off the mattress cover and flat sheet from all beds used
  • IN WINTER – upstairs Thermostats: Left (Fireplace) press the OFF button; Right (central heating) set to 50F
  • IN WINTER – Downstairs Thermostats: Set to 50F (game room)
  • Garage door remotes (2): return to the hanging rack in mud room
  • Make sure garage doors are closed
  • Lock all patio doors: end of hallway and master bedrooms (front deck), dining room (back deck), downstairs game room (hot tub deck) and close blinds
  • Lock all windows and close all blinds
  • Guest passes (2): return to top right drawer under the kitchen island
  • Hot Tub – IF USED: turn it to sleep mode (SL), follow the instructions: http://dealtackler.com/hot-tub/, make sure the cover is put on and locked
  • Check to make sure ALL water faucets are OFF and not dripping
  • Turn off all lights

 

  • Best way to exit the house: Lock the deadbolt on the front door, do not lock the door going into the garage, exit through the garage door (there is a button right next to the garage door to close the door while you stand outside). Be sure the garage doors are closed before driving off.

 

  • Did you break or damage something? Please replace the item(s).
  • Let us know when you have left the house, so we can arrange for the cleaning service
